Established in 2018, WIFT TAS committed to championing the presence and contributions of women in the local media landscape.

WIFT TAS initiatives support and align with Tasmania’s vibrant cultural offerings and events that advocate for innovative and inclusive cinema. These include the Tasmanian Breath of Fresh Air (BOFA) Film Festival, which is renowned for its focus on films that drive social change and showcase diverse filmmaking voices, including those of women.

WIFT TAS strives to create opportunities, foster connections, and build a supportive community for women in Tasmania’s film and television sectors. Not only this, the chapter actively seeks ways to promote women in film and television on the international stage.
